If you are thinking about coming to Germany to learn German with the Goethe Institute I must warn you about a few things. Firstly the course fees are EXCESSIVE and the price of the accomodation they offer is also unreasonable. Secondly, if you sign up for an 8 week intensive course you will find that it will not be quite as intensive as youfirst imagined. The course only runs from 8:30 in the morning to 1:00 in the afternoon and finishes an hour earlier on Fridays. After have paid 1825 Euros for just 8 weeks of tuition I would have thought that the course would run for the whole day.
The intensive courses move at a snails pace. The Goethe Institue secretly wants its course participants to learn as little as possible without them realizing, so that the unaware course participants reenroll for another 8 week course
And lastly, if you are an advanced learner of German you will most probably waste your money by enrolling in a course with the Goethe Institute. The goethe Institute will only form courses based on the abilities of the course participants. As there are very few advanced learners at these intensive courses, advanced leaners will be placed in an intermediate level just as I was.
THE GOETHE INSTITUE DOES NOT TELL YOU THESE THINGS WHEN YOU FIRST ENROLL!!!
THE GOETHE INSTITUTE IS NOT THE NON-PROFIT ORGANISATION THAT PROMOTES GERMAN LANGUAGE AND CULTURE THAT IT CLAIMS TO BE, IT IS A BUSINESS!!
