Truth is absolute. If it was not, why did the whole world call it TRUTH? Truth is conformity with fact or reality (oxford dictionary. p. 678). Sometimes truth is not found nor interpreted the right way, and this is when people think it is relative, but it is not. Truth can be twisted and changed by everyone, and this is why the world today encounters wars, hatred, confusion, distrust, discrimination, anger, starvation, jealousy and most of all diversification. Are all of the people aware of what is the truth to everything? The key here is that it is not the same throughout the entire world.
Sources are not reliable anymore and this is why the truth is hidden and may never be found until judgment day. Thus, it is absolute, no matter what people say or believe, there is only one truth. From the beginning of humanity, there were conflicts because of a disagreement between two sides. It was always a side that said something and a side that said something else, so nobody knew what was the truth. This situation and type of conflicts will never end. People think that truth is relative because they could look at others points of view, but there are no different interpretations to truth.
It is direct and a hundred percent accurate and precise. This is why truth lies in sciences like math, physics and biology. In those subjects, the result can never be different; it is either wrong or right. It can be researchable or solved in different ways but it still yields the same result exactly. For example, this mathematical equation, x2 – 14x + 48 = 0 has exactly two solutions for x, either x = 6 or x = 8. These two solutions can be brought differently, by using the quadratic formula, (-b i?? bi?? – 4ac) / 2a, or by factoring, (x – 6)(x – 8) = 0, etc…
In mathematics, truth is the result and it is always precise, accurate and straightforward. Nobody can interpret it in a different way or even change it. This example proves that truth is always absolute. In science, truth would be the laws and theories invented by the greatest scientists like Albert Einstein, Isaac Newton and many others. As an example that truth is absolute in sciences, Newton’s first law or the law of Inertia states that ‘an object at rest stay at rest and an object in motion stay in constant motion unless an unbalanced force acts on it’.
This statement or law was proved to be right after many and many experiments done in order to be sure of this law, and until now nothing has proved it wrong. This statement is a hundred percent correct or else it would not have been a law that the whole world recognize and abide by its rules. Therefore, in sciences, truth is absolute. An example of a big war today that is strongly related to truth is the Middle East crisis or more accurately the unending conflict between Palestine and Israel. This war began fifty years ago when Jews after the Second World War were given a settlement by the British government on this particular land.
Palestinians and Israelis could not communicate together and thus a war began destroying lands and killing innocent and poor civilians. For the Arabs, truth is that Jews from Europe and few from other nations came in by force with the help of the British government and took the land by force committing atrocities against Arabic children, men and women. On the other hand, for Europeans and Americans, truth is that Jews were given money by the British government and The U. S. A to buy lands so they can settle in peace after the ‘Holocaust’.
They say that the Arabs began the war by rebelling although they sold the land to the Jews without any problems. Palestinians say that they were treated badly and that Jews were taking over their lands. Both sides could not agree on something specific because they thought differently. They could not even open their minds for discussion because one or both sides distorted the absolute truth. Therefore a drastic war began and is still not ending today. In this case, people, either the Palestinians or the Israelis, basically changed truth.
Some other sources also played a big role in changing the truth, like media, other countries, etc. Some people would say that truth is relative in this case, but it is not because here are the two peoples killing each other not knowing what happened originally in these lands or changing the facts. For example, Ishaq Rabin was assassinated by his own people for encouraging a peace treaty with Palestine and giving Palestinians some of the land controlled by Israel. This brutal act shows that people are stubborn and this is caused by the imperfect truth that has been changed or distorted.
So how could the truth possibly be relative? It is certainly absolute because there is only one specific truth, and in this case, it is either the Jews who had settled by force or bought the lands according to the laws and regulations. The world encountered many changes bit by bit, it has been a time of change and improvement, a time of glory and attraction, a time of science and technology, a time of love and care ness, a time of peace and wars, a time that marked the beginning of a new generation and a style of life.
Nevertheless truth was one thing that did not change, may be distorted but its originality will never be changed at all, and this is why truth is absolute and not relative. People interpret things differently including facts; they also change truth and make up their own to prove their point no matter what happens. Truth can best be described as a result of solving a problem in Mathematics, or being a law in Physics or Biology because if it is true, nobody can change it nor contradict it.
Today the world is in sorrow and grief because truth is hidden. As the Middle East crisis continues, truth becomes buried more and more until it would never be found. This does not mean that it is relative, because there is only one truth no matter what happens. Therefore, truth is absolute.
