As we close out 2016 we have all learned the “content is king”. Content marketing will still be in high demand in 2017, but this time emphasis on quality over quantity will be taken into play. With content marketing taking marketers by storm over the past couple years. Some of us marketers are just catching up, others of us are further ahead, which will be very helpful in the upcoming year.
One area that will require massive attention is mobile marketing. I know when I use that term most of us think about having a responsive website that is compatible on all mobile devices. However, I am referring to making sure the content you are creating is mobile friendly. A lot of times when we are creating new content, such as infographics and white papers, we are on desktops and are not realizing how they are formatting on mobile devices. Keeping this in mind will be key in the new year.
Additionally, thinking outside of the box on content creation variety. Enhancing strategies in video will be imperative to survive all the “social noise” in 2017. Short live videos have made their way into social. Starting with Snapchat, Facebook live and now just recently released Instagram live feed. Followers want their content in multiple ways. Think beyond blog posts and photos. Be creative, in example create a short blog post with a short video clip. Best of both worlds!
I am sure 2017 will keep all of us on our toes!
